Good New Year's Kick Off with Silver Medal

Today me and my dad decided for skiing session at Praděd. Dady wanted to take part in some cross country regional race. I planned to do some sprints. Racing would be cool, but I didn't register. I wasn't sure my body is already ready for racing after my three weeks sickness.

Dispite heavy fog, It was so exciting to be at a competition again. That racing atmosphere by se dala krájet. I alsa wanna race! SOS call to my coach Radim. "Zvedni to, please, zvedni to!" Yes! "Would it be too stupid to do a small race today O:-) " Yes! I'm allowed to race.

One hour to the start of my class. Where is the registration office? Excuse me, would it be still possible t sign up for the race? "Hmmm, will you win?" a guy behind desk asks. "Eeeeh, tak určitě!" I've got a starting bib!!!!!! Tak se to dělá!

That 5km cours was really tough. Firstly, it was some fast skiing for me after one month, secondy, in some parts it was like skiing in the deep snow as there was a lot of new snow from previous days and thirdly, snow was really slow and heavy as it was just above zero. I was quite satisfied with my performance, considering it was a first faster session after a long time. I didn't handle one of the last turns and fell down. So happy I dodn't break any of my new equimpent! Despite very slow snow I had great skis (ATOMIC Redster S9 Carbon) and poles (SWIX Triac 2.0). It was a very first time when I used my new gloves (SWIX competition light) and they were literally amazing! Don't understand how could I have used another gloves for racing before!

Like a bonus, clouds flew away when we were about to go home. Sunny weather, white landscape, now wind and +1°C. THe weather you hardly ever experience at Praděd!
