Best Double Poling Shape Ever
Annual testing weekend with Czech ski-o national team.
Like every year, all Czech ski-o athletes met in Jablonec nad Nisou in order to test their shape before winter. Like every year, three tests were about to come: run-ups. double poling and cross country running race.
As my knee didn't let me to run yet, the only test I could take part in was double poling intervals. I was really curious about my double poling results as it was my main (and almost only) type of training in last month.
My expectation byly na místě. I have made a big improvement and my times were significantly better than in previous years. With other words, every single interval (out of five) was faster than my fastest interval ever. I have to consider that I wasn't tired from morning uphill intervals as in previous years, but the time imrovement was really markable. Great promise for the winter season! Now I just need to get my knee OK as I am flying tomorrow to Finland for the first snow skiing! Yesterday, I started to practise a bit of jogging on the flat terrain. Knee handled 20min in a super high speed (=about 8:30/km). Cross your fingers for me that I budu vysvobozena from only double poling trainings soon!
PS: We went on a diet. Only one šufánek per person was allowed!
