My first European Youth Championship, Sweden

Hard to describe with words what a thrilling feeling I had at the opening ceremony. Everyting is soo high level, everything looks so professional. I try to calm down for the races, I know I have never done ski-o in Sweden before. This is my first European Champs. My tactic is to enjoy the races, gain some experience and make performances to be satisfied with. The last goal didn’t work that well. I got totally lost at a long distance, finished 17th. A good lesson for m efor the future, Swedish ski-o is not as easy as Czech races. It went much better in the middle distance, 11th place is something to be satisfied with. We ran also sprint distance which was not included in the official Championship disciplines for my class W17. Sprint had „only“ the status of Standinavian Championship. I made it to the 13th position, also quite OK race. Last race was relay. I ran last leg. It was -16°C and I got so cold before my start due to waiting for my 2nd leg. Even though, I would find my performance good. Except from the end. I got passed by Mira Kaskinen in the finished. She was so incredibly fast!!! In all the races her performances were like from an another planet! All and all, this champs was more than great experience for me. I know my results were not super great but I’ve learnt a lot and got so much motivation for next season. And I’ve promised myself to kick Mira’s ass one day back ;)
